AUDREY PERLMAN RAPHAEL, OF COUNSEL

Audrey Perlman Raphael Audrey Perlman Raphael is Of Counsel at Levy Phillips & Konigsberg, LLP. Since joining LPK in 1990, she has specialized in asbestos litigation. She has achieved numerous multimillion dollar settlements against manufacturers of dangerous asbestos products.

Aside from her work in asbestos litigation, Audrey has represented burn victims, construction workers, crime victims, and automobile accident victims.

She has also worked closely with clients whose children have been injured as a result of medical malpractice, toxic substances, or a landlord's negligence. Currently, she is exploring the toxic effects of exposure to certain beauty products on pregnant women and the resulting birth defects that occur in their children.

In addition to these activities, Audrey has obtained payment for injured clients by uncovering hidden assets and insurance policies. Audrey successfully tried a case in the United States Bankruptcy Court against an uninsured motorist who declared personal bankruptcy in an effort to deprive her client of fair compensation for his injuries. Of note, the Court ruled that the perpetrator of an intentional tort may not hide behind bankruptcy laws. In re Kaperonis, 156 B.R. 736 (Bankr. S.D.N.Y. 1993).

Audrey graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the State University of New York, Buffalo. She earned a Masters Degree in psychology from New York University and a law degree from Fordham Law School where she was a member of the Fordham Urban Law Journal. After law school, Audrey interned at the Special Narcotics Department of the New York County District Attorney's Office.

A member of the American Bar Association, Audrey takes great pride in being a mentor to new attorneys, interns and the legal support staff of Levy Phillips & Konigsberg. She lives in Westchester with her husband, Steven, and two children, Laura and Joseph.
